Daesung Group Hosts

2016 Renewable Energy Youth Science Camp

Daesung Group (Chairman Younghoon David Kim) hosted a ‘2016 Renewable Energy Youth Science Camp’ on the theme of ‘Learning about Future Energy through Careers and Jobs’.

Daesung Group recruited 5th and 6th grade elementary school students and hosted them at Daesung Energy headquarters (Daegu) and the New & Renewable Energy Village located in Buan with the Daesung Haegang Science and Culture Foundation fully funding the camp fee for each participant.

Around 100 people comprised of 80 students and renewable energy specialists participated. Students gained the opportunity to learn about the scientific principles behind various energy sources and experience how renewable energy is applicable in daily life. Also, programs such as discussion sessions, presentations and team projects were conducted to enhance creativity and cooperation among the students.

"We wanted to provide students with the opportunity to think about key social issues like climate change and future energy," said a spokesperson for Daesung Haegang Science and Culture Foundation.

This ‘2016 Renewable Energy Youth Science Camp’ was hosted by Daesung Haegang Science and Culture Foundation, organized by Daesung Holdings Co., Ltd. and jointly sponsored by Daesung Energy Co., Ltd, Saje Donghaeng Cyber Education and ULearnNet Education.

Daesung Group has held a youth science camp since 2004. Recent camps have included the 2012 Serious Games Camp and the 2013 Eco-Energy Camp with a focus on the environment and energy.
