FROM: Daesung Group, 60 Years and Still Going [The Korea Herald / October 12, 2007] Daesung Group, which is widely known as an energy conglomerate, is expanding its scope of business to include Internet portals, film, games, and other sectors of the culture contents industry. The Group's Internet portal site (Korea.com) is preparing for its revamped launching as a User Created Portal (UCP). Daesung Group has investments in GenPlay Games, a developer and publisher of multiplayer mobile games headquartered in North America. Daesung Group will be investing in Peter Jackson's upcoming film, adding to its previous investments in major box office hits, including "Welcome to Dongmakgol," "Marathon," "Tazza (The High Rollers)," "Minyeoneun Gyoeloweo (200 Pounds Beauty)" and "Hwaryeohan Hyuga." |
