FROM: Inauguration of the "2007 Daesung Global Contents Forum" in celebration of Daesung Group's 60th Anniversary - Presenting the Future Vision of Korea's Culture Contents Industry - To be held at the Culture Contents Center in Sangam Digital Media City on 10 October 2007 under the theme, "Entertaining Education" - Panel presentations by international culture contents experts, including Mr. Richard Taylor, co-owner of WETA Workshop (special effects makers of "Lord of the Rings" and "King Kong"), and Dr. Shlomo Breznitz, U-learning expert. - To be attended by Dr. Wang Haibo, and 300 related persons On October 1st Daesung Group (Chairman & CEO: Younghoon David Kim) announced the inauguration of the "2007 Daesung Global Contents Forum" to be held at the Culture Contents Center in Sangam Digital Media City on 10 October 2007, in celebration of Daesung Group's 60th Anniversary. The forum will address global trends in the culture contents industry and present the future vision of Korea's culture contents industry. Sponsored by the Korea Culture and Content Agency (KOCCA), the Korea Game Industry Agency (KOGIA), the Korean Federation of Teacher's Associations (KFTA), the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), and the New Zealand Embassy of Korea, this upcoming forum will be held under the theme, "Entertaining Education." A panel of worldwide experts in film, games, and education will be invited to discuss global trends and future directions in the culture contents industry. The forum will focus on the proper direction and social value of entertainment, and thereby promote interest also in the educational value of entertainment. Panel presentations at the "2007 Daesung Global Contents Forum" will be presented by: Mr. Richard Taylor, co-owner of WETA Workshop-special effects makers of "Lord of the Rings" and "King Kong" ; Ms. Suzanne Seggerman, co-founder and president of Games for Change (G4C)-edutainment games company; Dr. Shlomo Breznitz, world-famous psychologist, U-learning expert, and former president of the University of Haifa; and Dr. Wang Haibo (University of Hong Kong, Queen Mary Hospital), creator of medical edutainment games. Panelists will present on the topics of the social and educational value of entertainment, games that address social issues and conflicts, brain training, and medical edutainment. In attendance will be 300 domestic and international experts in culture content, including the Director of KOCCA, New Zealand Ambassador to Korea, and other honourable guests. The forum will be broadcast live through Daesung Group's portal site: (www.korea.com). "We organized this 2007 Daesung Global Contents Forum in celebration of Daesung Group's 60th anniversary, with aims to examine global trends in culture contents industries and to discuss the future direction-and strengthen the competitive power-of the Korean culture contents industry," says Younghoon David Kim.
