FROM: The portal Korea.com, a member of the Daesung Group family (Younghoon David Kim, chairman) has recently unveiled its new Brand Identity (BI) and announced a fresh take-off as a Digital Theme Park. This is part of an overall plan to improve the website's competitiveness and create a new portal image focused on "hope" and "nature." Korea.com's Digital Theme Park includes the following: -the concept of a digital space where extraordinary contents can be utilized in a myriad of ways -a culture portal defined by innovative Internet mores -an easily accessible and virtually unlimited array of contents relevant to all age groups Chairman Kim, who is currently president of Korea.com, describes his vision for the portal in the following way: "A Digital Theme Park is a place where people can come to enjoy and also learn something at the same time." He adds, "Daesung Group, which is already investing in games and motion pictures, sees Korea.com linking these elements to become one of the most expansive, high quality portals anywhere." Along with the change in the flagship logo, the colors found on each of the foreign language pages have been selected to appeal to local tastes. The English-language page features green tones, the Japanese page, blue and the Chinese page, red. Korea.com headquarters recently moved to the Korean Chamber of Commerce & Industry building near Namdaemun and a "2nd Launching" ceremony was held in July with Chairman Kim and 120 employees in attendance. In January 2006 Daesung Group acquired Korea.com pledging to transform the site into Korea's representative domain, introducing both Korea to the world and the world to Korea with high quality information and contents as a "two-way" portal site. |
