Son Yang-won (1902-1950), written by his eldest daughter Son Tong-hui. Son is known for his faith during the five years he was imprisoned by the Japanese for refusing to worship at a Japanese Shinto shrine, and for his generosity of having adopted the boy who had killed his two sons. This book is a reflection of her respect and love towards her own father. It also describes adversities she had to confront by being in his family. Hence this account enables readers to see the life of Rev. Son and the growth of Korea's Christianity from a closer angle. Son wrote the book based on a diary she kept during her high school years with additional information gathered through interviewing those who witnessed the martyrdom of her father and her two brothers. "For many years, I felt that I needed to reveal the detailed truth about our situation during that time.
