FROM: Daesung Global Network, one of the Daesung Group's affiliated companies, held the opening ceremony for its 550-seat contact center on the 7th of July this year at Namsan-dong, Daegu, in the presence of David Younghoon Kim, the CEO of Daesung Group, Henyong Cho, the Mayor of Daegu City, Jinwoo Lee, the President of Keimyung University, Sungtae Park, the Vice-president of Daegu Metropolitan Council, Hwaohn Lee, the President of Daegu Bank and 100 other guests. Daesung Global Network Co. Ltd. has a 9-floor-high contact center building at Namsan-dong, Daegu. Being the first to construct the IP-based system in the industry, it is ambitiously expanding its business. Last September, it concluded inducement cooperation MOU with the Daegu metropolitan city contact center, moving its head office to Daegu metropolitan city. Daesung also strategically made a coalition with Hanaro Telecom last May. The Daesung Global contact center began with 120 seats, and is to be enlarged in its size to hold 1000 seats from the current 550 seats, to keep in line with other metropolitan contact centers. Moreover, Daesung Global Network is planning to establish a second contact center containing 2500 seats. Regarding the opening of Daesung Global contact center, the CEO of Daesung Group, David Younghoon Kim stated that the contact center is to contribute to provide a solution for the unemployment rate by creating employment opportunities in Daegu, and to enforce the activation of regional economy. Furthermore, he added that the contact center is planning to introduce training systems with a professional curriculum through the industry-academic cooperation of universities in Daegu and the Kyungbuk region, and enhance the contact center industry. The Daesung Global contact center intends to establish new audio facilities to implement periodic training systems for consultants and managers, and provide for an optimal counseling environment by establishing convenient facilities for eating, relaxation and showing films. David Younghoon Kim, the CEO of Daesung said that the opening of the contact center is significant as it was the first in the national outsourcing industry to adopt the IP-based system, and for its construction of a building exclusive for outsourcing. He added that Daesung will publicize the synergy effect regarding the construction of the contact center through its experience in executing contact center professional training at around 500 different sites including the Presidential Residence of the Republic of Korea, the National Cancer Center, Foreign Exchange Card, and its participation in the Telemarketing Fair 2004 and 2005, and up-to-date knowledge seminars. The increasing of interest on Daegu City as well as the Daesung Global Center will be another area of focus. |
