FROM: Daegu Metropolitan City In its continuous efforts to advertise the 2011 Daegu IAAF World Championships in Athletics and make culture contents widely available to citizens, Daegu City established an MOU with portal site company Korea.com on 12 December 2007 at 11:20 AM at City Hall. The purpose of the MOU is to make Daegu City policies, culture, and tourist information available online, advertise the 2011 Daegu IAAF World Championships in Athletics, and promote online services. Daegu City anticipates the MOU will help not only maximize online advertisement of the 2011 Daegu IAAF World Championships in Athletics but also increase local tourism, on account of Korea.Com's established reputation among foreigners. To supplement any weaknesses of the portal, Daegu City and Korea.Com have agreed to cooperate in the forming and launching of a homepage for easy access to related information and to enhance participation. Daegu City Information and Communications Manager, Jung Ik-Jae shares, "We believe this MOU established with Korea's representing culture contents site, Korea.Com, will contribute to the success of the event and not only increase local tourism but promote local culture industries also." Acquired by Daesung Group in April 2006, Korea.Com is a large-scale portal site that provides information about Korean films, music and culture trends, and is available in several languages.
