FROM: Daesung Group PR TFT -Daesung Group holds 5th annual large-scale community event -Invitations to 1,200 underprivileged children; gifts of books and clothes -Leading role in Habitat for Humanity Korea's home construction efforts At the time of the year when the business world is occupied preparing business plans for the coming year, energy expert enterprise Daesung Group (CEO: Younghoon David Kim) is busy living up to its motto, 'Warming Hearts, Warming Homes.' In addition to holding a music concert and preparing various cultural performances for underprivileged children, Daesung Group has taken on a leading role in home construction efforts for homeless families with children. This year marks the 5th annual 'Concert of Love' which is Daesung Group's largest year-end event. Its 60th anniversary celebration 'Special Concert of Love' will be held on 18 December 2007 at the Dongu Culture Athletic Center. The event is sponsored by Daesung Group subsidiary Daegu City Gas and will invite 1,200 children, including children from social welfare facilities and elementary students in the Daegu area. In celebration of the Group's 60th anniversary invitations to this year's 'Concert of Love' will be sent to all social welfare facilities, youth-headed households, and child services-related centers in the Daegu area, making the event the district's largest charity event ever. The program consists of performances by a children's choir, taekwondo acrobatics, and Yonsei University vocal ensemble and a sing-along time. Books and winter jackets will be given out to attending guests. The event was first held in 2003 in an effort to deviate from the wasteful extravagance of the holiday season. Every year Daesung Group event coordinators research and organize a special line of performances. What makes the event so special is that employees even dress up as Santa Claus and give out gifts. Daesung Group also leads the way in Habitat for Humanity Korea's home construction efforts, building warm homes for homeless families with children. Daesung Group has been sponsoring the cause since 2002 and employees have volunteered at construction sites every year starting in 2005. Volunteers are selected on a sign-up basis. In 2006 20 volunteers rotated volunteering at the construction site in Gyeongbuk for 5 days. Daesung Group Chairman Younghoon David Kim currently serves as Board Member of Habitat for Humanity Korea, and Daegu City Gas President Choong-yung Jung is also a Board Member and founding member of the Daegu Chapter of Habitat for Humanity Korea. Daesung Group Chairman Younghoon David Kim said, "Winter is the most economically and emotionally difficult time of the year for the underprivileged," that "Daesung Group will definitely continue to provide heat energy to customers in the winter but more importantly, deliver warmth to those in need through events such as the 'Concert of Love' and Habitat for Humanity Korea sponsorship."
