Daesung Group Holds 17th Concert of Love

[December 30, 2019] Daesung Group, one of Korea’s oldest energy business conglomerates, will hold its 2019 Concert of Love at Konkuk University’s New Millennium Hall today. Marking its 17th anniversary, the Concert of Love is organized by Daesung Group for children who normally do not get to enjoy such events. This annual event, which began in 2003, is one of the year-end outreach activities that Daesung Group hosts in contrast to more typical and exhausting adult-centered year-end parties. Daesung employees are proud to be involved in organizing and running the event.

For 2019, Daesung invited 700 children from Seoul and Daegu for a two-part experience. In Part 1, the opening performance will present the beautiful harmonies of pianist and Yonsei University Piano Department lecturer Kim Ji-eun, violinist and Incheon Arts High School String Department teacher Song In-soon, Guri Philharmonic Orchestra chief flutist Kim Bit-na, and baritone Yeon Tae-Oung of Yonsei University's Department of Voice. In addition, there will be a talent show in which children from the various children's centers showcase their skills in dance, song, the ocarina and in an orchestra.

In Part 2, children will be able to enjoy the family musical “Mind Blowing Breakthroughs Season 2” based on “Mind Blowing Breakthroughs”, the popular animation series aired on Korea’s Educational Broadcasting System (EBS).

“Mind Blowing Breakthroughs Season 2” is an experiential performance which involves audience participation. By presenting scientific knowledge in an appealing manner, children learn that science can be fun and interesting, too.

In addition, in the lobby before the event, children will be able to enjoy a number of other fun activities such as face painting and an augmented reality (AR) experience program like “AR card” and “AR O/X quiz”.

Chairman Younghoon David Kim of Daesung Group noted, “The Concert of Love is an opportunity to provide a variety of cultural experiences such as musicals, plays, and ballets for children at the end of each year, and to convey a message of dreams and hope. I always want to make it an event that can give children the energy they need to develop their dreams in keeping with the motto of Daesung Group, which is ‘Warming Hearts, Warming Homes.’”
