Daesung Group today announced a partnership with Skype™ to provide the Internet telephony service in Korea from 14 July 2011.

Under the new partnership, Daesung Group takes over the provision of Skype services in Korea from eBay Auction and Skype’s partnership with eBay Auction comes to a close as of 13 July 2011. Skype users will be able to continue enjoying popular Skype features  and purchase Skype Credit, Skype Subscriptions and Skype Online Numbers.

The background of the partnership lies in Daesung Group’s ambitious plan to enter into wired and wireless business like MVNO and VoIP. Also synergy effects are expected to be brought to both Korea.com and Daesung Global Network’s CRM business.
