FROM: Younghoon David Kim, Daesung Group Chairman Honored with Mongolia’s Highest State Award - In recognition of his efforts to enhance cooperation between Korea and Mongolia, Kim presented with state honor “The Order of the Polar Star” - On October 16 Daesung Group chairman Younghoon David Kim was awarded “The Order of the Polar Star,” the highest distinction the Mongolian government can give to a foreigner. “The Mongolia government recognized Chairman Kim’s contribution to the successful development of the Green Eco-Energy Park (GEEP) Project (operated by Daesung Group) near Ulaanbaatar, and his work as honorary consul promoting cooperation between Korea and Mongolia,” Daesung Group said. On behalf of the president of Mongolia, Prime Minister Sanjaagiin Bayar presented Chairman Kim with the award at the Lotte Hotel in Seoul. In reciprocation, Chairman Kim presented Prime Minister Bayar with a modest token of his appreciation. Mongolian National Public Radio and Television covered the event and will broadcast this event as part of a special on the GEEP project. The Order of the Polar Star was awarded to former Prime Minister Goh Kun in 2002, Hyundai Automotive Group Chairman Mong-koo Chung in 2004, and Hanjin Chairman Yang-ho Cho in 2005. |
