(April, 2006) Product Dimension: 137mm x 192mm Hardcover: 138 pages Price: 7,500 Korean won ISBN: 89-954904-3-8 In commemoration of the 62nd anniversary of the martyrdom of Reverend Ki-chol Chu, which falls on 21 April 2006, Daesung.Com Co., LTD. is releasing a newly revised edition of his biography entitled More Than Conquerors. This biography, which focuses on the last years of Reverend Chu’s life ending in his martyrdom, has been written by his youngest son Kwang-jo Chu. Critics have acclaimed the heartfelt testimonies to the sacrifice of Reverend Chu recorded throughout the book, making it unique among his other biographies. Reverend Chu, whose name is synonymous with the expression “martyr of Korea,” is a representative figure in Korean church history and his life and martyrdom has helped shape the faith of modern day Korean Christians. In 1963, in recognition of his lifetime refusal to compromise Biblical principles and his resistance to commands to worship the Japanese sun-goddess, the Government of the Republic of Korea posthumously awarded to Reverend Chu the “Order of Merit for National Foundation, Independent Medal.” (This medal is awarded to those who contributed to the founding of the Republic of Korea.) Through this book, readers will be able to learn about Reverend Chu’s courage and the deep faith that led to his martyrdom. The book will also provide them with a vivid and compassionate portrayal of the author’s father, from a perspective that only a child can have. More Than Conquerors is a rare first person account of the early days of Korean church history. First published in October 2004, More Than Conquerors is bilingual with Korean and English texts side by side.
