Daesung Group Chairman Younghoon David Kim
attends the World Economic Forum for 14 Consecutive Years

- The first time as World Energy Council (WEC) Chair
- Hopes to gain insight on the rapidly changing global economic and industrial environment

Younghoon David Kim, Chairman and CEO of Daesung Group, will attend the 47th World Economic Forum in Davos Switzerland Jan. 17-20. Following his first trip to Davos in 2004, he has attended for 14 consecutive years. In Davos, Chairman Kim plans to have a wide range of meetings with representatives from international organizations and leaders in the business community.

At WEF, he will attend sessions such as the one on “Responsive and Responsible Leadership” to better understand how the current combination of inequality, polarization, uncertainty and complexity were created by the rapid changes in the international and economic environment.

“This is officially the first global forum I will be attending as WEC Chair and coincidentally, the main agenda is about leadership. I expect to get great insight on how to respond to the changing economic and business environment,” noted Chairman Kim.

“The forum will also be a great place for the gathering of government officials and experts in the energy sector. I will discuss international cooperation following the Paris Climate Change Agreement enacted last year,” he added.

Chairman Kim has been sharing the highlights of the Davos Forum since 2008 through his personal blog and will continue to do so this year.
