Daesung Group Chairman Younghoon David Kim

to Give Special Lecture at KAIST: “2050 Energy Vision”

-KAIST invited Kim to kick off its CEO Forum special lecture series on October 8th

-Kim believes “Young engineers will be the driving force of the third industrial revolution”

[October 8, 2015] Younghoon David Kim, Chairman & CEO of Daesung Group, will give a special lecture entitled “2050 Energy Vision” for KAIST students at Matrix Hall on October 8th.

KAIST invited Kim to be the first speaker in its CEO Forum series where he will deliver a lecture to undergraduates, graduate students and professors at the prestigiousengineering school. In addition to his work with Daesung Group, Kim’s role as as co-chair of the World Energy Council (WEC) and his status as a highly acclaimed thought leader in the energy community made him a natural choice for event organizers.

At the lecture, Kim will discuss the current status of Korea’s energy market and its future prospects. He will also proivide expert analysis of global energy markets, including his opinion on how to cope with challenges such as slumping oil prices.

Kim has emphasized the importance of qualified young engineers in the development of future energy projects which he sees as being particularly technology-intensive. Kim is very confident in the abilities of the next generation of engineers, claiming that today’s young engineers will serve as leaders in the third industrial revolution.

Kim, who is currently co-chair of the World Energy Council will become chair in October 2016. He is planning to utilize the World Energy Congress - WEC’s premier gathering - to share ideas and technologies by encouraging greater participation from young scientists and engineers.
