Daesung Group Chairman, Younghoon David Kim Attends Davos Forum -First time as co-chair of global energy organization -Will offer insights into global issues from Davos forum through personal blog [January 20, 2014] Younghoon David Kim, Daesung Group Chairman is attending the annual World Economic Forum (January 21-27) in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland. This will be the 11th year in a row that he has attended this event. This year, however, Chairman Kim is participating as the current co-chair (2013-2016) and next chair (2016-2019) of the World Energy Council (WEC). Thus, he is expected to participate in a wider range of activities and discussions in comparison to previous years. Chairman Kim noted, “At this year’s forum, many summit-level leaders are participating with, I believe, a much more positive attitude toward global economic recovery. I plan to share many of my ideas and this and many other topics through active discussions with experts.” He added, “By taking advantage of the WEC global network I will make sure to promote Korea’s creative economy and attract more business investment to our domestic energy industry.” While in Davos, Chairman Kim plans meetings with a variety CEOs from global energy companies to discuss current energy issues. He will also post his thoughts on major issues discussed in Davos on his private blog (www.younghoonkim.com). ###
