Recycling market takes off

 Daesung Group since 2006 has been recycling methane gas produced at garbage dumpsites. Taegu Energy Environment Corp., an affiliate of Daesung Group, signed an agreement with the Daegu local government to refine methane gas collected from a dumpsite near Dalseong county in Daegu.

  The company generated revenue of 6 billion won that same year. Daesung Group is also planning to convert biomethane gas produced from sewage treatment plants into a usable resource.
