FROM: Korea Herald Korea Herald Wednesday , April 8, 2009 'Energy Olympics' brings Korea and Canada together The World Energy Congress, a major international forum on energy issues, next year will bring together Korea and Canada, countries on opposite ends of the energy spectrum, as partners for green growth, a top organizer said in Seoul yesterday. "Korea and Canada will be able to collaborate on each other's strengths and weaknesses through the upcoming WEC events as the hosts of two upcoming congresses, because the only multi energy congress keeps all options open," said Stephane Bertrand, executive director of next year's World Energy Congress in Montreal, Canada. (Omission of interior parts) "The 21st century will be the era of renewable energy, and the two upcoming congresses will decide the future of energy industry forever," Kim said. "Admitting some WEC members have differing interests over various energy-related issues, we have no better option than to open up the issues for debate through the congress, which is opened for everyone interested in the issues, not just member countries," he added.
