Daesung Group holds 12th Annual “Concert of Love”
 

- Over 650 disadvantaged children from Seoul and Daegu invited

-Talent show featuring invitees also held

[December 30, 2014] The 12th annual “Concert of Love” fully sponsored and organized by Daesung Group (Younghoon David Kim, Chairman) was held on December 30, 2014 at the New Millennium Hall on the campus of Seoul’s Konkuk University. Beginning in 2003, Daesung Group employees decided to give up their year-end parties and instead funnel their time into supporting the “Concert of Love.” The main purpose of the concert is to give opportunities to underprivileged children who may not have the chance to enjoy cultural events.

In line with the vision of Daesung Group, “Warming bodies, Warming hearts,” company employees and children had dinner together before the performance by Ewha Womans University Ballet troupe. The children also had the opportunity to show off their talents, with kids from 11 Children Centers offering dance presentations, Samulnori (Korean traditional percussion quartet) and choir performances.

One official from an invited children’s center expressed her appreciation by saying “In the past, we felt bad because we didn’t have the chance for our children to show their talents, but now, this opportunity has made the children all very happy.”

Daesung employees welcomed the children with balloons and snacks in the lobby of the New Millennium Hall and, as the children left, shared Christmas presents such as clothes, books and stationery items with them.

Chairman Kim attended the event and said “This was the first time that we have held a talent show and I was surprised by the enthusiasm of the kids. I hope that this opportunity inspires them to continue to pursue their dreams.”
